Dreaming of All Things Fabulous: Celebrity Michelle Williams' Style

I was going to do this post yesterday, but completely forgot. Oops!

So here ya go...

I am IN LOVE with Michelle Williams! Everything about her...including her style! She always is so put together, but in an effortless sort of way. I can bet she doesn't take too much time getting ready each day and I bet she never over thinks what she is going to wear. Her outfits are always simple, she doesn't over-accessorize and she never wears much makeup. She is beautiful. ..inside and out. Not to mention, she has the cutest little daughter with the cutest little name. Matilda. Precious! Pretty well dressed as well.

Love this outfit. Coordinated nicely, but not too matchy-matchy. A little bit of vintage, but very girlie. Perfect for a film festival.

Simple summer top (love the waist ruffle) paired with skinny jeans. Cute and comfy.

Pretty shift and heels. Again, a little feel for vintage. Love.

I think these are the same boots she is wearing in the first picture. Easy, put together and effortless. And, look how cute little Matilda looks.

Very Anthropologie, yet very Michelle. Girlie with the ruffles. She loves the feminine look, but she is never too frilly. Just so pretty.

I think my fashion goal for 2010 (that is after I no longer look like I'm sitting in a bean bag) is going to be to dress with Michelle Williams in mind. Effortless chic, always with a feel for vintage, and girlie without being too frilly or prissy.

We are SNOWED in in NWA. I didn't leave my house yesterday. Got a lot of stuff done, but started to feel a little stir crazy today. We ran two errands this afternoon and got out again tonight and went to dinner. I wore sweatpants with my rain boots over them. I was looking hot, let me tell you. But how do you dress when there is 5 inches of snow on the ground and you're 9 months pregnant?

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

The Nursery: Part Four [Shower Gifts]

Let me start of by saying that Aaron and I are so very blessed and loved. We have been shown so much kindness and thoughtfulness during our pregnancy. Not just through gifts, but through cards, e-mails, and kind words! Being pregnant is hard, I'll be the first to admit it. I've never been known to sugar-coat things. So, it has been really nice to have so many women in my life, who have taken the motherhood journey before me, to give me good, sound advice and just offer up words of encouragement.

We have had 3 showers and I have one more! My side of the family hosted my December shower, Aaron's side of the family and some friends hosted my January shower, we also had a small shower at Aaron's work and I have one more shower at my mom's school a week from tomorrow. I think Mom's work shower is more for her and Elle than for me and Elle...its kind of a grandmother's shower :)

Everyone was so generous with their gifts at all our showers! We have received everything that we will need to get us by for a few months (at least).

I think this is called a bouncy seat...I also have the matching swing. Both were gifts! I know it leans a little to the boy side, but I knew this would mainly be sitting out in our living room so I wanted it to match the colors we have going on in there. Also, I figured if they were a neutral color I could use them for all my children!

Mom and Dad got us our Graco Travel System. I love it. Its a Quattro Tour Sport Stroller in Marlowe print with the matching carseat (its in the car!). So cute, and once again gender neutral! Thinking ahead :)

Elle Louise's Papa Wray and Gigi (Aaron's parents) made her this sweet rocking chair/horse. I love it! My 21-month old nephew sat in it the other night, so I know she will be able to enjoy it for a long time!

Lots of stuffed animals! Notice the cute elephant in the back! Love it! "Elle"phant :)

Another gift from Elle's Gigi...A sweet "10 Commandments" print. Very simply put for simple little minds!

Of course, the Boppy and cover! A must, or so I've heard :)

My cousin got me this awesome Reisenthel Market Basket. I absolutely LOVE it. I plan on putting it in my car to hold diapers, wipes, bottles, extra changes of clothes and etc. For now it is holding all the books we received at the January shower. Everyone was asked to bring a favorite childhood book for Elle Louise in place of greeting cards. Great idea! Elle already has quite the book collection!

Shoes from several different people! She has quite the shoe collection! They are just so darn hard to resist! So cute, tiny, and inexpensive (at least they are when I buy them)!

Sweet knitted outfits that Aaron's sister, Candice, made! Are you kidding me? Just doesn't get much cuter than that! She also made Elle Louise a hat and booties to wear home from the hospital! Love. Love. Love.

And...LOTS of necessities were given. Lots of diapers, wipes, travel changing systems, playmats, play yards, receiving blankets, swaddlers, crib and carseat blankets, diaper cream, lotions, bath wash, wipe warmer, bottle warmer, and you get the point! LOTS of great stuff! We are stocked. Shouldn't have to buy the necessities for a LONG time!

One of my most favorite things. Sweet Lullaby Lamb from Pottery Barn Kids. It is so precious. Hangs on the crib and makes noises. Very soothing and just looks so sweet :)

We also received TONS of gift cards. And, with those, we were able to buy our Co-Sleeper Bassinet for our bedroom and the monitor!

Like I said this is only a fraction of what we received. We truly are blessed and Elle Louise is so lucky to have so many people who love her and are so excited for her arrival. We really do have a TON of great people in our lives that we call family and friends!

Body After Baby

Besides meeting, bonding, and sharing sweet moments with my sweet Baby Girl, I am ready to have my pre-pregnancy body back.

So far, 40ish pound weight gain and NO stretch marks. Hoping the stretch marks stay away. I am very consistent with the belly butter (Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lotion)...not sure if it even works, but why not use it. I figured stretch marks are minor. The weight gain is minor. I just want and have wanted throughout the entire pregnancy to grow a healthy baby! And, I think I'm succeeding!

But, as I'm nearing the very end of my pregnancy I'm anxious to lose the weight. I feel HEAVY, out of breath, and out of shape (because I am)! My legs ache like you wouldn't believe. I have to be constantly moving. I'm just ready to be where I was, fitness wise!

After all that said, Elle Louise will be the best reason in the entire world to gain 40 pounds (and lots of cellulite). I would do it one hundred times over. Well, maybe not a hundred, but definitely 2 or 3 more times :-)

I look at Skinny vs. Curvy everyday (maybe even a couple times a day). Its one of my favorite celeb blogs for sure. It is good inspiration for me to get back in shape.

Here are some figures that I like and will probably hang on my fridge :-)

All pictures from Skinny vs. Curvy

LC

Doutzen Krous (sp?). I like her curvy figure, but I don't think I will ever be that curvy. I'm built pretty straight up and down.

Miranda Kerr. She may be a little too skinny, but I think she looks cute!

Drea De Mateo! Wow! I think she's like 40! Great inspiration. Here she is frolicking the beach with her children! One thing about being in good shape is having lots of energy for the small ones.

Bar Raeffeli (another sp?). In my opinion, the perfect figure. Lean, but not too skinny!

Alessandro. Had a baby this fall. Not fair. Looks good here...

...but too skinny here!

And, YIKES. Rachel Zoe needs to gain a little weight (or a lot)! Goodness. That just hurts looking at it. I really like her too, but girl needs to eat a hamburger!

We have 2 beach vacations this summer. Both in July. So, depending on when Elle arrives I will have somewhere around 5 months to get beach-body ready. I think that I can do it. I plan on starting to work out as soon as I can after Elle is born. Maybe just start with walking outside or on the treadmill. I think that will be good for me too...just a little moment to myself when Daddy gets home (so weird to say...we're gonna be parents)! But after the 6th week mark I'm going to step on it, given Elle and I are both healthy and I am given the "go ahead" by the doctor. I've read in several of my books that vigorous exercise causes your breast milk to taste sour (and baby does not like sour...do you blame them? yuck!), but I plan on pumping too so that might not be a problem! I haven't decided yet if I'm going to post weekly about my weight loss or not. I might become too obsessed if I do and although I badly want to lose my baby weight I also want to devote all my time to my sweet baby. Obsessing over losing weight WILL NOT fit in our agenda. But, hopefully I can find that happy medium.

Along with beach vacations, come NEW bathing suits. Now that I am going to be a mom, I'm thinking no more bikinis. Its my PERSONAL OPINION and I don't think anything weird when I see moms in bikinis with their babies...I'm usually pretty impressed when I see young babies and moms who are in awesome shape, but I just don't see myself in bikinis anymore. Maybe around my parents pool but not at the beach or in public.

So...I found some really cute tankinis that I'm thinking about getting. I'm going to wait until we get a little closer to July to purchase, but these are REALLY cute!

ELLE (ha!) floral halter tankini. SO CUTE! My favorite!

Converse One Star triangle top tankini at Target! This color is amazing!

Delia's polka dot side-cinched tankini. Love the retro feel of this one. Fun and flirty!

Tomorrow is my 37-week checkup. Praying the doctor gives us some really good news. We are READY. Bags are packed. Carseat is in the car! So excited. I'm sure it won't be tomorrow, but if Doc tells me I'm progressing a little bit more I will be happy with that! NWA is supposed to be getting hit with another very bad ice storm tomorrow and Friday! Seriously praying that Elle doesn't decide to come in the midst of all that. Please keep NWA in your prayers. Pray that it passes us or doesn't come down as hard as meteorologists are predicting!

Baby Style, Handmade Style

The Inspiration:

The cutest shoes in the world. Kelly green patent leather BabyGap beauties! Fell in love at first sight, and waited until they went on "sale" and purchased them! Original price $14.99, sale price $11.99. I am a sucker!

We had a little dilemma. I got home with the shoes and she had nothing kelly green in her closet to wear. Oh, drama!

I had some fab vintage fabric that my Mimi had given me months ago and decided to whip up a little sweet something.

Well. 4 1/2 hours later, this is what transpired:

A cute little onesie dress, that is VERY poorly sewn! It really is horrible, but Elle Louise will probably only get to wear it once, so what does it really matter!

Tutorial found here.

I've made another dress like this, but this time I decided to add the ruffle and do it a little different at the top. The ruffle not so hard, the top very difficult! Very frustrating. I may or may not have had a few choice words with my sewing machine!

So, the one thing I've learned today is that I still need a LOT of practice on the sewing machine. This dress should probably take a decent seamstress an hour to sew...took me four, plus an additional 30 minutes! Not impressive! And, I am sure if Stephanie at Barefoot in the Kitchen could inspect my work, she would laugh. Probably outloud. I will get better. One day!

The Nursery: Part Three [Elle Louise's little bathroom]

definitely had to give elle louise her own monogrammed towels!

you'll notice a little bit of a bird theme

flocked leaf shower curtain (curtain panels from urban outfitters)

the cutest bird paintings. mom gave these as a gift at my december shower! it was a sneaky little purchase from a local boutique, riffraff. painting by lindsey kelley.

more shower gifts! love all elle louise's sweet little hooded towels. can't wait to wrap her up in them.

more gifts. i think one on my most favorite gifts have to be bath stuff. the smell is so sweet! i literally walk in elle's bathroom every hour and open the shampoo and body wash bottles to smell them! i'm obsessed.

and, of course the rubber ducky bath spout! so cute!

So...we really didn't update the munchkin's bathroom too much. We redid the bathroom last year and really didn't want to invest more money in it. Our color scheme before was green, black and gray...so, we left it as it was and added the most obvious of colors, PINK! I think its cute, but not too cutesy for our guests...it is not only our Baby Girl's bathroom but its the bathroom that guests use when they come to visit. I definitely did not want it to be too obnoxious!

Dreaming of All Things Fabulous Friday: Maternity Style

I really wish I would have known about this online store MONTHS ago. I don't ever really look at Kelly's Korner blog, I know blasphemy. But...I linked to it today and she is doing some "Show Us Your Life Friday" posts every Friday and today was "Show Us Where You Shop" and she mentioned The Shabby Apple! I thought the dress that she showed was cute, but the name was cuter so I went to the website only to find that they have some of the cutest maternity dresses I have ever seen! That is saying a lot because I have honestly looked everywhere for cute maternity clothing, only to find nothing! Seriously! I could have looked way cuter at both of my showers had I just know about this website before! Still excited about the find though, because they have some really cute clothing. Think Anthropologie meets Ann Taylor Loft! Very fun and flirty, yet functional and affordable!

Love them all!!!!
