naked baby

definitely not a self-soother

as i've mentioned before, little miss elle louise does not like to be left alone nor does she like to put her self to sleep.

here is proof:



me "trying" to get ready this morning. usually she falls back to sleep after her early morning feeding and its my chance to get showered and dressed. oh, but not this morning. baby girl was having none of that. she wanted to be held. so she slept in her moby (not really sure that this is a position and it might be very unsafe, but it worked for us this morning) while i put on makeup and blow-dried my hair and she loved every minute of it. me? not so much! i was drenched it sweat by the time my getting ready routine was over.

these days soon shall pass and i will look back wishing that she wanted me as much as she did then. so, for now, i will cherish these moments...no matter how annoying they may be!

oh, the lazy afternoons!

i hope i never forget what napping on the couch with my sweet baby feels like. i love this little girl so much.

Happy Birthday Papa Wray!

Thursday was Papa Wray's birthday so we celebrated with him and the rest of the family at Shogun on Friday night!

It was good food and a good time!

oh, those chubby cheeks!

i've been so bad at taking pictures. i blame it on the lack of putting elle louise down. seriously, i hold her all day long. i know, i know, i'm creating a none-self-soothing monster...but, i just can't keep my hands off of her.

our days fly by. we usually sleep in late, i might get dinner ready and a load of laundry done before i take an afternoon nap with the sweetness. some days we meet friends and family for lunch or shopping or both! some days we stay home all day...i cherish those days! we miss daddy every day when he's at work and can't wait for him to get home!

smiles are being handed out here and there and it just melts our hearts! seriously, the sweet little chubby-cheeked smile is going to get elle louise anything she wants!

elle louise has developed a little night colic. she's usually pretty fussy from about 6 until 10, but after that 10ish feeding she is good to go for the rest of the night. her sleep schedule is great and i usually only have to give her one middle of the night feeding and she goes right back to sleep, so i'm definitely not missing out on any sleep!

hope everyone has been doing good! i am looking at blogs, but i'm usually holding baby so i can't comment! its just too hard with one hand!

happy spring!

Spring has sprung!

Seriously! Yesterday was the first day of spring and this morning we woke up with a foot of snow on the ground!

Elle Louise is ONE MONTH!

It's so hard to believe that our sweet baby is already one month old. The last 4 weeks have just FLOWN BY. Honestly, I don't know where all the time has gone. A lot of adjustments have taken place but we have finally settled into our new life ...

At one month Elle is:

• a very content and sweet baby.
• a great nurser. we are on a good every 2-3 hour schedule
• sleeping well...some nights we get lucky with a 4-hour span
• a pure joy to her daddy and i
• finally fitting into all her cute newborn clothes and starting to wear some of her 0-3 months clothes
• still blessed with a lot of hair (as you can see in the pictures). it's so fun...we don't even need headbands!
• starting to smile and for reasons other than gas. i got a little half smile this morning!
• still not able to wear any of her shoes that i bought her. one day soon!
• a great shopper. we've been to the mall twice and she has been an angel both times we went.
• loving her swing and bouncy sweet. although, i can say she doesn't get put down too much. i really enjoy just holding and snuggling her. i know, i'm creating a monster. but, honestly, i don't think that there is anyway elle could ever be a monster.
• a good traveler. she loves riding in the car! praise the Lord!

Hopefully I'll get better at blogging. We are starting to have a bit of a schedule so maybe soon I'll be able to blog more frequently! I miss all my blog friends and hope to catch up on everyone's blogs and comment SOON! Very soon!

Oh, so precious. I'm so thankful to have such sweet pictures!

Sorry for the neglecting of my blog. I hope to get back in the swing of things sooner than later. But for now, I'm just enjoying the lazy days with my baby (lots of naps are being taken). I'm cherishing every moment of my sweet newborn. And, yes, I'm spoiling her rotten!
