a big end to a great year

yesterday we ventured to the mall just for something to do. when we got there elle said (like she has said so many times before) that she wanted to get her ears pierced. so we walked down to claire's. only one associate was working so while we waited for another girl to get there, so that both ears could be pierced at the same time, we walked around and she talked about how she was going to get her ears pierced and was so excited! we got back to claire's and she started getting nervous and changed her mind. we have gone back and forth so many times and i had already filled out the paperwork this trip that i decided today was going to be the day. i knew that she wanted them done. so after a little coaxing from me and daddy (and the claire's girl) she changed her tune! and decided she wanted to do it!

we are so proud of our big, little girl. she did such a good job and was so brave. she was so patient and cooperative while they were marking her ears and while waiting. and only cried for a few seconds after they pierced them. once we got a mirror for her and she could see the earrings she was so excited.

i left the house before she woke up this morning, but aaron said she woke up talking about her "februarys" (birthstone earrings). ha! she is very proud of herself. as she should be!

i would have to say that definitely was a big end to our great 2012. looking forward to 2013! its going to be a fun year. elle turns 3, in 5 short weeks....and we will be welcoming a new member into our family in april! i must admit, elle turning 3 is almost harder to wrap my mind around than the fact that we will soon be a family of four!
