maude monday {online boutique}

i contacted becca from maude shoppe last week about doing the "maude monday" postings because i wanted to make sure that she was okay with me "stealing" pictures from their facebook page for the posts. she gave me the go ahead for the posts and also informed me that they have an online boutique...maudeboutique.com. i had no idea! as soon as i found out they had an online store i went shopping. i didn't actually purchase anything, but did make a lot of mental notes for when i get my first free something in may!

i just love am obsesed with these rose-colored skinnies. i've been seeing girls around town wearing them and kept wondering where they got them from. i'm guessing maude shoppe! love love love! love the top and shoes as well.


i serioulsy have the hardest time finding shorts because i have chunky thighs and short short short legs and i'm a mom so the longer the better, but not too long! ha! these scallop-edge high-waisters might just be the perfect short for me. i would have to try them on of course, but i really love them!


cropped denim top with lace insets and high-waist change cloth skirt. love both. looks super styled without trying too hard!


how precious is this laureen dress? i think it would also be really cute with cropped skinnies and sky-high platforms!

saturday sweets

just some sweet instagram pictures from our last couple of weeks:


  thursday afternoon fun at the park. lasted all of about 30 minutes before the mowing crew showed up. elle is terrified of lawnmowers, blowers, weed eaters and etc...


i do not have a green thumb. actually i have the exact opposite...a black thumb perhaps? that's why this knock out rose bush is the perfect addition to our landscaping. impossible to kill. it's thriving right now. so so pretty!

we took our cousins with us to watch aaron play volleyball. they had the best time!


last night we celebrated aaron's sisters upcoming wedding by going out to eat and gifting her some "pretties". it was a fun night!


see the light, feed the hungry candle. my aunt gifted me this candle last week and i've been burning it today. it's the french market scent and it smells amazing. you can read about their mission here.

i guilted my mom into giving me this cookbook last weekend. love it! can't wait to try out some of pw's new recipes. one of my favorite of hers, from her website, the white chicken enchiladas are in this cookbook. so so yummy! i think we might need to indulge in those this week.

one super quick shout out! see, i told you lots to blog about in about 10 minutes time! eek. not a very well thought out post! just want to get this out there before the weekend hits.

a skate party

last wednesday my cousin turned 6 (so hard for me to believe)! so, yesterday, to celebrate she had a skating party. it was a blast! elle louise had such a great time! as did aaron and nana (my mom). i decided not to skate, mainly because i haven't skated since grade school and the older i get the more uncoordinated i become, so i just knew the end result of me skating would be a big huge disaster. so instead i walked around the rink and helped elle and took pictures.


the birthday girl! it was ak's first time to skate and she was so good!

she got the hang of it really fast!


aaron held a very sleepy little girl while he skated a few laps. she loved that!





such a fun party! i'm going to have to keep the skate rink in mind for future parties. so much fun for the kids and the grown ups!


 

home

first of all, the new blogger is so weird and is going to take some serious getting used to! eeek. i don't like change.

 so, this week, was one of we-didn't-leave-the-house-much week. i just needed to stay home, buckle down and get. stuff. done! it was so nice. when i have weeks like this, i often wonder why i don't stay home more. ultimately, i love being at home, but lately we have just had so much going on. its easy at home...elle is happiest at home, we don't have to rush around and try to get out the door, which i often to find to be the hardest task of my day. no makeup, no brushing hair, lunch in pajamas...it really is just so wonderful!
 
thursday we were home all day long. we didn't go anywhere. i had my camera out taking pics of some shop stuff and got some quick pics of elle louise.




really into reading lately. which i'm so glad! for the longest time she would not even sit still for the entirety of a book, but now she wants me to read to her all the time!



what could be more fun than an umbrella inside?






she was so proud of herself for building this tower all on her own! i was pretty proud myself.

only 3 instagram pics this week?

how is it even possible that i've only taken 3 instagram photos this week? oh yea, i've been busy being busy! oh yea, elle won't stand still for more than 2 seconds for me to take her picture. hence 2 of the 3 that are food related...



have y'all had these? ummm....yum! i discovered them last weekend when my mimi served them with black bean/corn salsa at an easter cookout. so good! i didn't have a chance to make any salsa so i bought a jar of world table sweet corn salsa and oh my lands!!!! you need to jump on the popcorn chip train!



we went to the park tuesday and had a picnic lunch and these girls played hard. elle took an almost-4-hour nap that afternoon!



and i ate enough easter candy this week for a small country! i, in fact, ate it all! all the stuff i like at least. there are a lot of airheads left :)

e's easter dress

i've always wanted to make my children's clothing. so far i have one child and i've made one dress. for my sweet girl's 3rd easter i made my first ever dress...her easter dress. i'm not saying this to sound like a super skilled sewer or anything, because like i said, this is the first dress i've ever made, but it was really fun to make. i only got frustrated one time and that was at the bodice. i could not for the life of me sew a rounded edge. it was driving me bananas! but other than that the process went rather smoothly!

crystal bridges + family

my aunt and cousins are in town from dallas this weekend! we don't see them near enough since our lives are so busy now, but we've been making the best of the time we have with them while they are in arkansas. elle love love loves rachel and garrison. she has so much fun with them and they are wonderful with her. so sweet and gentle! i don't have to worry about them at all! its marvelous! they are marvelous....really two of the sweetest kids i have ever known!

today we took a trip to crystal bridges. ah mazing. i can't wait to go back without elle so that i can really take it all in. i kind just had to walk circles around all the exhibits to keep her moving in the stroller. as long as we were moving she was happy. plus all the people watching helped distract my nosy little 2-year old. she did a great job.
