salted toffee-chocolate bars
salted toffee-chocolate squares
13 graham crackers
1 bag (8 ounces) toffee bits
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped toasted natural almonds
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
3/4 cup (4 ounces) bittersweet chocolate, chopped, or chocolate chips
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt directions
preheat oven to 350 degrees
melt butter and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. bring to boil and reduce heat to a rapid simmer and cook until you have a syrup-like texture. about 2 minutes.
while butter and sugar are melting (takes a little bit) line a baking sheet with tin foil and line up graham crackers on foil.
sprinkle toffee bits and almonds on top of the graham crackers.
once cooked, evenly pour butter/sugar mixture over top of the toffee bits and almonds.
bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
immediately top with chocolate chips and salt and slice into squares using a pizza cutter.
cool completely before serving.
